Our private grammar school is a boarding school and is located in Iserlohn, a small town at the heart of Germany that boasts good links to the cities of Dortmund, Düsseldorf and Cologne. The 'Abitur', Germany's university admission-level qualification, can be attained at this boarding school.
Our school fosters international students with staff specialised in teaching German as a foreign language and also prepares them for language examinations culminating in a recognised language certificate from telc©. Other languages on the curriculum are English, French, Spanish and Latin. Individual support is possible at our school because students are taught in small groups. Teaching continued uninterruptedly even during the pandemic in our roomy, bright and well-ventilated classrooms (insofar as this was permitted by the government). Thanks to our classrooms' outstanding digital equipment, encompassing computers, beamers and Wi-Fi, tuition can also include digital exercises. Each teacher works with a tablet PC, and tablet PCs are also available to students during their lessons. Individual tutoring takes place in the various subjects during the daily study period in the afternoon.
Our boarding school offers a family environment in bright rooms with modern furnishings. Fresh meals are prepared each day in our kitchens (including at weekends), and (alcohol-free) drinks are always freely available. Our daily routine is clearly structured and binding for all boarders: school – lunch – study period – leisure time – bedtime. We have rules concerning the use of smartphones and computers during leisure time, and ensure that all of the children exercise, take part in joint activities and feel right at home.
The riding arena, the swimming pool (indoor and outdoor), the skating rink and the tennis court are just a short walk away from the boarding school for our students. The surrounding countryside beckons you to participate in mountain biking, hiking or jogging, and our sports centre offers plenty of space for frolicking, training and playing and is available for the boarders to use under supervision. However, creative, artistic offers in Iserlohn are also taken up. Students are supervised throughout the weekends and are able to take part in an array of leisure activities such as joint excursions, trips to the theatre and games evenings, etc. Expert staff are on hand to help the adolescents with day-to-day matters (washing laundry, shopping, banking, Immigration Office, etc.). Parents and adolescents have a set contact person who they can get in touch with easily at all times.
Over the past five years, all of the graduating classes attained very good final examination grades and were offered places at universities both in Germany and in their home countries. We prepare our international students for their relocation to a German university and gladly help them to look for a place at university. We are delighted to accompany students to open days and visits to universities on request and are also able to recommend contacts at a number of nearby universities, private universities and universities of applied sciences. Each adolescent at our school will be sure to make friends from Iserlohn and around the world among the day students and boarders. This is a community you will be happy to return to even after a holiday at home, something you remain welcome to do even after graduating from the school.
